Our Puppy Practices
ENS Training
We do ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation) training with each puppy from day 2 until they are 2 weeks old. ENS was developed for and used by service dog and military organizations. Studies show that puppies who receive this training have stronger immune systems, better stress tolerance, are more adaptable to new situations, and have stronger heart beats. Learn more about ENS training here.
Socialization
Once your puppy goes home with you, it has already experienced being around lots of people, kids, babies, our other dogs, our different farm animals, loud noises, being outside, being inside, riding in the car, getting a bath, getting their nails trimmed, going to the vet, and as many other daily life things we can make them part of!
Vet Visit
We take all of our puppies in for their first vet check up when they are about 7 weeks old; our vet weighs each puppy, listens to their heart and lungs, takes their temperature, examines their eyes, ears, nose, feet, genitalia, skin, coat, teeth, mouth, palpates the abdomen and lymph nodes. You will receive a copy of the vet exam.
Vaccinations
Before going to their new homes, each puppy will receive his or her first puppy shot! We administer Canine Spectra 5 Dog Vaccine which has Canine Distemper, Adenovirus type 2 (and Hepatitis), Parainfluenza and Parvovirus when the puppies are 7 weeks old.
AKC Registration
Each of our Bernese puppy goes home with the AKC application paper for a limited registration. When you complete your portion and submit it to AKC either in the mail or online. AKC will process the application and you will receive an official AKC Registration Certificate for your puppy.
Baby Blanket
We give each puppy their own cute and cozy blanket that they'll get to take home with them. The blankets smell like mom and their littermates, helping them sleep better those first few nights in their new home.
Puppy Food
We will send you a link to the food that the puppy is used to eating. We encourage you to get a small bag of the same kind of food so you can slowly transition your new puppy to the food that you are going to feed him or her.
Deworming
Parasite are very common in puppies. We do our best to catch any parasites or worms they may have picked up by deworming our puppies at 2, 4, and 8 weeks old. That way they are off to a good start and you know for sure your puppy is healthy when you take him home!
Our Health Guarantee
We give a one year guarantee against any congenital defects of the puppy. Each puppy will have been checked by our Licensed Veterinarian and deemed in good health. We also require you to have your new puppy examined by y0ur vet within 5 days of receiving puppy.
